Individual therapy session Fees

$200 for 50-60 minute sessions

$300 for 80-90 minute sessions

Intensive sessions are $200 per hour (ex. 4 hours = $800)

$100 for 25-30 minute check-in sessions

All debit, credit cards, and HSA are accepted.

Weekly sessions are usually recommended in the beginning of therapy to build rapport, develop effective coping skills, and to help reach your goals as soon as possible. This isn’t always feasible or necessary for everyone, we can discuss a frequency that works best for you.

EMDR “intensives” are considered anything longer than a 60 minute session. This can shorten length of treatment as there is more time to process the presenting concerns without needing to stop and start treatment each week or learn coping skills that may not be needed once EMDR is completed.

90 minute sessions are recommended for EMDR treatment but not required. Intensive sessions are billed by the $200 hour and will be agreed upon before each session. 90 minutes = $300, 2 hours = $400, 4 hours = $800

EMDR can be used in addition to individual therapy. Since it is not traditional talk therapy, some prefer to see their current therapist and work with me for EMDR.

If you are unable to afford this rate, look into https://openpathcollective.org for a directory of therapists that offer lower cost services. I may also be able to connect you with someone if you would like some assistance.

Cancellation Policy

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you do not provide at least 24 hours notice your card on file will be charged the full fee ($200, or otherwise agreed upon amount) for the missed session. Future sessions will not be scheduled until payment has been received.

Cancellation and rescheduling can be made by phone call, text, e-mail or client portal. I will respond to confirm I received your message.

Getting Started With Video therapy

Upon booking your first session, you will receive an e-mail link to the secure client portal SimplePractice. You will be able to sign digital consent forms and complete questionnaires before the appointment. A link will be emailed to enter the video session in this portal 10 minutes before the appointment. You will need to download the SimplePractice app if using a phone or tablet.

Payment is taken through IvyPay, a HIPAA compliant payment processor. A link to enter your card information will be text messaged to you before your first session begins.

Insurance information

I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance. Some insurance plans will provide partial or full reimbursement for out-of-network services when you submit paperwork called a Superbill. I can provide this for you to submit to your insurance by request.

You will be responsible to pay in full prior to each session. I cannot guarantee insurance will reimburse you. I suggest calling your insurance company prior to beginning therapy to ask the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits? If so, how much does my policy cover if I see an out-of-network provider?

  • Does my current policy have a deductible? What is the amount, how much has been met this year, and when does my policy renew?

  • Is there a limit to how many therapy sessions I can attend in a year? If so, how many?

  • Do you cover extended sessions? What are the add on codes? (ex. 90837 + 99354 + 99355 = 3 hour session)

  • Before meeting with an out-of-network provider, do I need to get prior authorization or do you need any information on the therapist?

  • How do I submit a claim for my individual therapy sessions? What specific information do I need?

Common CPT codes for therapy include:

  • 90791 - Initial Assessment

  • 90837 - Individual Session (53-60 minutes)

  • 90834 - Individual Session (45-53 minutes)

  • 90832 - Individual Session (30 minutes)

  • 90847 - Family Session

  • 90846 - Family Session Without Patient Present Individual Therapy Session

Good Faith Estimate

On January 1, 2022, the “No Surprises” Act went into effect, this is designed to provide transparency regarding medical expenses and to protect individuals from surprises when they receive their medical bills.

This act requires health care practitioners to provide current and potential clients a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) on the cost of treatment. Currently under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are self pay and not using their insurance (submitting superbills for out of network reimbursement) an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

Due to a variety of factors it can be challenging to estimate the length of treatment for mental health counseling. Each individual client is unique and has various circumstances and unforeseen issues that may impact length of treatment. Some clients are satisfied with a reduction in symptoms while others continue longer because they see it is beneficial to do so. Others begin to schedule less frequently, and may continue to attend therapy on an as needed basis. You will work collaboratively with this therapist to determine the frequency and duration of treatment and you can decide how long to stay engaged in therapy.

This therapist is committed to helping clients feel better and reach their goals as soon as possible. The fee per session is displayed on this page as well as in consent forms. A client will not be charged more per hour than expected unless there is a change in fee, in which case there will be advanced notice of this fee change and there will be signed consent to the new hourly rate.

In summary, providers and facilities must give you:

  • Your good faith estimate before an item or service is provided, within certain timeframes.

  • An itemized list with specific details and expected charges for items and services related to your care. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Your good faith estimate in writing (paper or electronic). Note: A provider or facility can discuss the information included in the estimate over the phone or in person if you ask.

  • Your estimate in a way that’s accessible to you.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. See the website below for steps to take.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
